“I remember one night I was very unmotivated to go see the Au Pairs and they were playing at the Underground…” Joanie Underground Question_6
There are many good stories, but my personal favorite was about the time when my band Bound & Gagged played (maybe with Mission of Burma, as we did often) to a super packed house, and we did a blistering set, and after the second ovation, I threw my drumsticks into the air over the audience, and there was such a crowd frenzy to catch them…I’ll never forget it. If you have that experience once in your life as a musician, you’re set. The Underground was the kind of club where that level of performance intensity could be matched by crowd intensity.
